**Coimbatore, India (May 9, 2025)** – The Association of University Teachers (AUT), Zone VII, is calling on the Indian government to extend its single-window admission system to government-aided colleges. Currently, the system, which streamlines the admissions process, is in place for government and government-aided engineering colleges, and government arts and science colleges, but excludes government-aided arts and science colleges.

According to K. Saravanakumar, Secretary of AUT Zone VII, this omission creates confusion and difficulties for students seeking admission. A committee’s report recommending the system’s expansion to government-aided arts and science colleges has been submitted to the government but its contents remain undisclosed. The AUT argues that implementing the single-window system would not only simplify the application process but also ensure students pay only government-approved fees.
