Sat May 10 13:00:00 UTC 2025: ## India Launches Retaliatory Air Strikes Against Pakistan After Cross-Border Attacks

**NEW DELHI, May 10, 2025** – India launched retaliatory air strikes against multiple Pakistani air bases following cross-border attacks from Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced at a press conference today. The strikes targeted air bases in Chaklala, Murree, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rafiqi, Misri confirmed. He also accused Pakistan of spreading misinformation on social media, falsely claiming that India had attacked its air bases.

The press conference, which included Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, revealed that the Indian strikes were a precise response targeting only military installations. Additional targets included Pakistani military sites in Sukkur and Chunia, a radar site in Pasrur, and the Sialkot airfield.

Earlier this morning, Pakistan shelled the town of Rajouri, resulting in the death of Additional District Development Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa and significant civilian casualties and property damage, according to officials. Colonel Qureshi condemned Pakistan’s targeting of hospitals and schools near air bases in Srinagar, Awantipur, and Udhampur, highlighting their disregard for civilian infrastructure.

Wing Commander Singh emphasized the precision of the Indian response, stating that the armed forces targeted only identified military targets. She further highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing disinformation campaign, including false claims of Indian strikes in Afghanistan. Misri dismissed these claims as ludicrous.

India’s statement asserts that Pakistan used drones, missiles, and fighter jets to target both civilian areas and military infrastructure on India’s western border. While the Indian armed forces intercepted most of these attacks, some Indian Air Force stations in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj suffered limited damage to equipment and personnel.
