**New Delhi, [Date]** – India and Pakistan are locked in a dangerous escalation of conflict, exchanging missile strikes in what officials describe as a rapidly deteriorating security situation. The fighting, which began with smaller drone and missile attacks, has escalated to the use of ballistic missiles.
According to reports, Pakistan launched a Fateh-II ballistic missile, which India claims to have intercepted over Sirsā. Pakistan alleges that India retaliated with a ballistic missile strike targeting multiple Pakistani airbases, including Islamabad, inflicting significant damage. India has not confirmed these reports.
Explosions were also reported near Srinagar and Pathankot airbases, although there are currently no reports of casualties. Earlier Saturday morning, Pakistan reportedly launched multiple unsuccessful attacks targeting various locations in Jammu and Kashmir. Loud explosions were heard in Jammu, as well as in Srinagar and Pathankot. Pakistani media released a video claiming missile launches at approximately 5:00 AM.
Sources indicate that India targeted at least three Pakistani airbases. While Pakistan claims India used ballistic missiles, India has denied this. India successfully intercepted several Pakistani missiles mid-flight. Amritsar, Punjab, is also reported to be a target of Pakistani aggression.
On Friday night, Pakistan launched drone attacks targeting 26 cities across Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir. Drone attacks were also thwarted near Avantipora air force station. Chandigarh and Ambala are on high alert. At least one family in Firozpur, Punjab suffered injuries from these overnight attacks.
A blackout has been implemented in all states bordering Pakistan. The Ministry of Defence has stated that the situation is under control, continuous monitoring is underway, and there is no cause for alarm. A spokesperson stated that 26 drone sightings, some carrying suspected weapons, were detected near the international border and Line of Control (LoC), including areas like Baramula, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Firozpur, Pathankot, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, and Lakhki Nala.
