Fri May 09 17:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Launches Drone Attacks on 26 Indian Cities; Three Injured in Punjab

**AMRITSAR, INDIA** – Pakistan launched a series of drone attacks targeting 26 Indian cities across the country, from Baramula in the north to Bhuj in the south, officials reported today. The attacks, which occurred along both the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC), involved both unarmed and armed drones, posing a threat to both civilian and military installations.

In one incident, a Pakistani drone crashed in a village near Firozpur, Punjab, after being targeted by India’s air defense system. The resulting fire injured three members of a single family, who were hospitalized with burns. Reports suggest four drones were launched towards the village of Khai, with two being shot down and two impacting a home.

The attacks, occurring amidst heightened tensions along the border, included strikes near Baramula, Srinagar, Awantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Faridkot, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala. One armed drone targeted a civilian area in Faridkot, resulting in the serious injuries.

The Indian Army has responded effectively, shooting down all incoming drones. Following increased ceasefire violations in the Poonch and Rajouri sectors, involving artillery fire on Indian civilian areas along the LoC, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has ordered a strong and punitive response. The Indian Army maintains a high state of alert along the border.
