Sat May 10 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Record Number of Pilgrims Flock to Kedarnath in Historic Char Dham Yatra

**Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand:** The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is experiencing record-breaking participation this year, with Kedarnath witnessing an unprecedented influx of pilgrims. Over 169,942 devotees have already visited the Kedarnath shrine, a testament to both the strong faith of the pilgrims and the robust infrastructure put in place by the administration.

To ensure the well-being of pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government and health department have implemented extensive medical arrangements across Rudraprayag district. This includes 16 medical units and 4 medical relief camps strategically located along the pilgrimage routes. District hospitals, community health centers (CHCs), and primary health centers (PHCs) are also fully operational, equipped with ample medicines, oxygen cylinders, concentrators, nebulizers, stretchers, and emergency first-aid supplies.

A total of 90 doctors, 240 paramedics, and 20 ambulances are deployed to serve the pilgrims. Further bolstering the medical infrastructure, 18 specialist doctors from other districts have been brought in to handle various illnesses and emergencies.

The Char Dham Yatra commenced on April 30th, with Gangotri and Yamunotri opening on that date, Kedarnath on May 2nd, and Badrinath on May 4th. Registration, which began on February 27th, has already surpassed 1.9 million pilgrims. With the current numbers exceeding previous years, this year’s pilgrimage is expected to set a new record. The Uttarakhand government has made substantial arrangements to facilitate the smooth conduct of the yatra.
