Sat May 10 12:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India and Pakistan Exchange Cross-Border Strikes Amid Heightened Tensions

**NEW DELHI, May 10, 2025** – India and Pakistan engaged in a fierce exchange of cross-border strikes on May 10th, 2025, escalating existing tensions to a critical point. Pakistan launched a series of drone and missile attacks targeting 26 locations across India, including several airbases. Colonel Sophia Qureshi reported the use of high-speed missiles, with one attempt to target a Punjab airbase at 1:40 AM. Airbases in Udhamurpur, Pathankot, Bhuj, Bhatinda, and Adampur were targeted.

India responded swiftly with “Operation Sindur,” retaliating against Pakistani military installations and airbases in Noor Khan (Rawalpindi), Murid (Chakwal), and Rafiki (Shorkot), according to a Ministry of External Affairs press conference. India asserted that its actions were limited to terrorist infrastructure and military facilities, denying claims of civilian or religious site targeting.

Pakistan’s attacks, involving drones and suicide drones, were largely thwarted by Indian air defenses, including advanced S-400 systems. While Pakistan claimed damage to Indian airfields, including the S-400 systems and those in Surat and Sirsa, these claims were dismissed by both Colonel Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. Colonel Qureshi accused Pakistan of using civilians as shields and spreading disinformation by opening its airspace.

Wing Commander Singh emphasized India’s desire to de-escalate but its readiness to respond decisively to any further aggression. The Indian Air Force used Rafale jets and precision weapons to target key Pakistani airbases, including those housing JF-17 and F-16 fighter jets. While significant damage was inflicted on these bases, reports of casualties remain unconfirmed. Both sides reported successfully intercepting and neutralizing numerous incoming projectiles. The situation remains highly volatile.
