**TIRUCHI, May 9, 2025** – The Tiruchi unit of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) has called on Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to address critical infrastructure and staffing shortages in the district. In a statement released today, TNGEA district president K. Pal Pandi outlined several key demands.
These include the construction of a consolidated education office complex to improve administrative efficiency, urgent recruitment to fill numerous vacant positions at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH), and the relocation of dilapidated treasury office buildings deemed unsafe, particularly during the monsoon season. The union also highlighted the need for new oncology, trauma, and cardiac surgery units at MGMGH to meet the growing healthcare demands of the region. Further requests include relocating the welfare office for persons with disabilities to a more accessible location and establishing new revenue and panchayat union offices in the Pachamalai hill region. The union emphasized the severity of the staff shortage at MGMGH, despite its status as a medical college hospital.
