Fri May 09 03:19:38 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Police Raid Homes in Multi-Crore Liquor Scam Investigation

**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – May 9, 2025** – A Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Andhra Pradesh conducted raids on Thursday on the homes of several individuals linked to a multi-crore liquor scam allegedly perpetrated during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime. The searches targeted K. Nageswar Reddy, personal assistant to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with Dhananjaya Reddy and former Officer on Special Duty Krishnamohan Reddy.

The alleged scam, estimated at ₹3,200 crore, involved alleged cash transactions, the introduction of new liquor brands, and kickbacks from distilleries. Several YSRCP leaders, including V. Vijaya Sai Reddy, Rajampet MP P.V. Midhun Reddy, and Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, are named as accused and have been questioned by the SIT. Former IT Advisor Kessireddy Rajashekar Reddy and others have already been arrested.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has requested detailed information from the SIT to investigate the scam under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED aims to probe how the alleged actions resulted in significant losses to the state’s treasury. The investigation continues.
