**HYDERABAD, INDIA – May 5, 2025** – Hyderabad is gearing up to host the 72nd Miss World pageant, a month-long spectacle showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage alongside the international beauty competition. The event, which began with the arrival of contestants from 116 countries, including Miss Canada, Brazil, South Africa, and Portugal, will culminate in a grand finale on May 31st at the Hitex Exhibition Center. Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková will crown her successor.

This event, a key initiative of the Telangana Congress government under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, aims to promote the state as a leading tourist destination. The pageant’s schedule includes a packed itinerary for contestants, blending cultural immersion with competition events.

Highlights include:

* **Opening Ceremony (May 7):** A vibrant showcase of Telangana’s folk and tribal dances at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.
* **Cultural Tours:** Visits to significant landmarks such as the Charminar and Laad Bazaar in Old City, the Buddhist theme park Buddhavanam, and the UNESCO-recognized Pochampally handloom village.
* **Competition Events:** Fast-track selections at T-Hub, a talent finale at Shilpakala Vedika, and the Miss World Sports finale at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. Contestants will also participate in a workshop at Shilparamam crafts village and attend an IPL 2025 match.
