**Thiruvananthapuram, May 9, 2025** – The Kerala government announced a significant shake-up of its top police officials today. Several key appointments were made, impacting various branches of the force.
Among the most notable changes, Director General of Police Manoj Abraham has been appointed as the Director of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB). Yogesh Gupta will now lead the Fire and Rescue Services. M.R. Ajith Kumar takes on the role of Excise Commissioner, while Balram Kumar Upadhyay will head the Kerala Police Academy in Thrissur. Mahipal Yadav has been named the new Additional Director General of Police (Crimes).
Further appointments include G. Sparjan Kumar as Inspector General of Police, Crime-I, Thiruvananthapuram; P. Prakash as Inspector General of Police, Coastal Police; and Sethu Raman as Inspector General of Police and Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services. Finally, A.
