**Jammu, India –** The Jammu and Kashmir Congress has strongly condemned Pakistan for launching missile and drone attacks on Jammu and other areas on Thursday night. According to Indian officials, eight missiles were fired, targeting civilian and strategic locations, but all were successfully intercepted by Indian air defense units. No casualties were reported.
These attacks follow India’s own retaliatory missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan on Wednesday, codenamed Operation Sindoor, in response to the April 22nd Pahalgam terror attack. Indian authorities reported that Thursday night’s attacks were thwarted at 15 locations across the northern and western regions of the country.
Ravinder Sharma, chief spokesperson for the J-K Pradesh Congress Committee, stated that Pakistan “will have to pay for its sins.” External Affairs Minister Jaishankar previously warned of a “very, very firm response” to any Pakistani military action. Tensions remain high between the two nations amidst fears of wider conflict.
