**Hyderabad, [Date]** – With the monsoon season approaching, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is accelerating drain construction and flood mitigation efforts. Commissioner RV Karnan has instructed officials to prioritize work in areas where land acquisition issues have been resolved.
During a Tuesday inspection of ongoing projects in the Kukatpally zone, Karnan addressed several key concerns. He reviewed the progress of a box drain construction project in Moosapet, noting delays caused by land acquisition and stressing the need to prevent flooding. He also ordered immediate action on the stalled Kaithalapur road widening project, which is currently delayed by a court case.
Addressing water stagnation at the Moosapet Metro station, the Commissioner proposed installing a new pipeline in Ambedkar Nagar in collaboration with the water board. He also inspected the ongoing construction of a multipurpose function hall in Shapur, noting that the project is nearing completion.
The inspection involved a team of officials including Zonal Commissioner Apurva Chauhan and other key personnel. The GHMC’s proactive approach aims to mitigate potential monsoon-related flooding and disruptions across the city.
