Fri May 09 09:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Diddy’s Federal Sex Trafficking Trial to Begin; Hundreds More Civil Suits Looming

**New York, NY** – A federal jury is expected to be seated by the end of the week in the sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, marking a significant turn for the music mogul. Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which carry a potential life sentence.

However, the criminal trial is only one facet of Combs’ legal battles. Attorney Andrew Van Arsdale, representing 37 individuals with existing civil sexual assault claims against Combs, revealed to CNN that he’s preparing to file over 400 additional civil lawsuits. These suits are being delayed until after the criminal trial due to concerns among his clients about potential retaliation if Combs is acquitted.

Van Arsdale’s firm, AVA Law Group, uses a call center, Reciprocity Industries, which has received nearly 27,000 calls related to Combs, resulting in an estimated 15,000 claims of mistreatment after filtering out unreliable calls. This has been described by the New York Times as the “central collection point” for allegations against Combs. Combs’ legal team has dismissed these claims as “sensationalized allegations” and accusations from “ambulance chasers.”

While two of the over 60 existing civil suits have been withdrawn due to inconsistencies or the accusers’ changing their minds, the sheer volume of pending claims paints a picture of extensive legal challenges for Combs, regardless of the criminal trial’s outcome. The majority of allegations are unrelated and span several decades and locations. Some of Van Arsdale’s clients have cooperated with federal authorities in the criminal investigation and may testify.

Combs maintains his innocence through his legal team. The outcome of the criminal trial and the subsequent wave of civil lawsuits will significantly impact Combs’ future, representing a dramatic fall from grace for the once-influential figure in the music industry.
