Fri May 09 02:50:00 UTC 2025: ## 71-Year-Old Stuntwoman Sets World Record (Possibly) in New “Final Destination” Film
**Los Angeles, CA** – The upcoming “Final Destination: Bloodlines” is pushing the boundaries of the horror franchise with a record-breaking stunt. 71-year-old stuntwoman Yvette Ferguson, pulled out of retirement, performed a full-body burn for the film’s opening scene, potentially setting a new Guinness World Record for the oldest person ever set on fire on camera.
The scene, set in a fictional 400-foot-tall Skyview Tower, features a catastrophic restaurant collapse. Ferguson plays Mrs. Fuller, one of the victims engulfed in flames. The film’s directors, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, confirmed the stunt and submitted it to Guinness World Records, though they are awaiting confirmation.
The ambitious opening sequence, which reportedly took half the film’s shooting time, involved a massive, custom-built set replicating a luxurious restaurant. The set was designed to withstand extreme heat and even featured a section that could be tilted 30 degrees to simulate the tower’s collapse. Lead actress Brec Bassinger, who witnessed the stunt firsthand, described the experience as “beautiful” and praised Ferguson’s commitment.
Another standout scene involves actor Richard Harmon, whose character is lifted into the air by a fan-powered chain attached to his nose piercing. Harmon confirmed that, while safety measures were in place, he opted to perform the stunt with a regular chain for a more realistic effect.
The film’s directors highlighted the unique blend of disaster-movie scale and graphic horror as a key factor in the “Final Destination” franchise’s success. “Final Destination: Bloodlines” hits theaters on May 16th.
