**Puducherry, May 9, 2025** – A data entry operator at the Villianur Commune Panchayat, B. Ravicoumar, has been suspended following a corruption case registered against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI’s Anti-Corruption Branch in Chennai alleges that Ravicoumar amassed wealth disproportionate to his income, both in his name and in the names of his family members. The government’s suspension order, issued by the Director of Local Administration S. Shakthyvel, stipulates that Ravicoumar must remain in Puducherry and obtain permission before leaving the region. This is not the first CBI investigation involving Ravicoumar; last year, a similar case was filed alleging the accumulation of approximately ₹1.7 crore in illicit wealth.
