Fri May 09 08:06:24 UTC 2025: ## India’s Military Foils Multiple Pakistani Attacks

**New Delhi, May 9, 2025** – India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level security meeting today following a series of thwarted attacks on Indian military installations by Pakistan. The attacks, carried out using missiles and drones, targeted multiple locations across northern and western India, including Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. This follows similar attacks on Thursday, which targeted 15 cities, and comes less than 24 hours after Indian forces launched Operation Sindoor, retaliatory missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Defence Ministry confirmed that the Indian armed forces successfully neutralised the Pakistani attempts. The meeting, attended by the CDS, Army, Air Force, and Navy chiefs, reviewed the national security situation and operational preparedness. Minister Singh reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to defending its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens, stating that no limitations will hinder India’s response to such threats. While the specific details of the engagements remain undisclosed, military officials confirmed the effectiveness of India’s response in thwarting the Pakistani attacks. The escalating tensions prompted air sirens in Chandigarh, with residents advised to remain indoors.
