Thu May 08 17:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India Launches Devastating Naval Strike on Karachi Port Following Cross-Border Tensions

**NEW DELHI** – In a dramatic escalation of tensions following recent cross-border attacks, the Indian Navy has reportedly launched a significant missile strike on the Karachi port in Pakistan. Sources claim the port has been severely damaged. This action comes amidst heightened military activity, including the deployment of the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier to the Arabian Sea and the downing of Pakistani jets and an AWACS aircraft.

The Indian Navy’s strike group, positioned near the Karwar coast, comprised an aircraft carrier, destroyers, frigates, anti-submarine warfare vessels, and support ships. This naval operation follows coordinated strikes by all three Indian armed forces on alleged terrorist bases within Pakistan.

According to government sources, India’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and shot down multiple Pakistani F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets, along with an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, deep within Pakistani Punjab province. These actions were reportedly a response to multiple attacks by Pakistan on Jammu, Punjab, and Jaisalmer.

Simultaneously, India repelled several drone attacks targeting locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. At least one drone was shot down near Akhnoor, and two kamikaze drones were neutralized in Poonch. A drone also crashed at Jammu civil airport.

Pakistan reportedly launched multiple attacks across the India border late at night, attempting to strike various locations. However, these attempts were largely thwarted by the robust Indian air defense systems. The Indian Air Force responded swiftly with fighter jets, neutralizing the Pakistani attacks. The extent of damage caused by the Pakistani attacks remains unclear.

The situation remains highly volatile, with both nations exhibiting a significant military response. Further developments are expected.
