VIJAYAWADA, May 8, 2025 – Member of Parliament Kesineni Sivanath has called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into a multi-crore liquor scam allegedly perpetrated during the YSR Congress Party’s (YSRCP) rule in Andhra Pradesh (2019-2024). In a letter to the CBI Director, Mr. Sivanath highlighted public outrage over the purported ₹3,600 crore scam and the lack of transparency surrounding it. He emphasized the need for accountability, regardless of political affiliation, and believes a CBI investigation is crucial to restoring public trust and ensuring an impartial probe. Key figures named in the alleged scam include Rajampet MP P.V. Midhun Reddy, former MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy, and retired IAS officer K. Dhanunjaya Reddy.
