**New Delhi, May 8, 2025** – Former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has voiced her support for the inclusion of two female officers in a press briefing announcing “Operation Sindoor,” a joint Indian Army and Air Force operation targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, representing different religious backgrounds, joined Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to detail the operation, which was described as a measured response to a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 lives. Mirza shared a social media post praising the powerful image of the two women officers briefing the media, highlighting the message it sends about India’s national identity.

According to officials, Operation Sindoor successfully targeted facilities in various locations across Pakistan and PoK, believed to be affiliated with terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). Over 70 terrorists were reportedly killed, and more than 60 injured. The operation utilized a combination of ground and air-launched missiles.
