**Tiruchi, May 8, 2025** – Tiruchi Member of Parliament Durai Vaiko has called on the Southern Railway to operate special trains between Tiruchi and either Tiruvannamalai or Vellore to accommodate the large number of pilgrims expected to attend the Chithra Pournami festival on May 12th.
In a letter to the Southern Railway General Manager, Mr. Vaiko highlighted the significant number of devotees from Tiruchi and surrounding areas who travel to these cities for the religious festival. He argued that the addition of special trains along the route (via Srirangam, Ariyalur, Vriddhachalam, and Villupuram) would greatly benefit pilgrims. Mr. Vaiko urged the railway authorities to consider his request and take appropriate action.
