**Chennai, India** – The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed Gujarat wicket-keeper batsman Urvil Patel for his base price of ₹30 lakh. Patel will fill the void left by Vamshedhar Reddy, who is out for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season due to injury.
The 26-year-old Patel boasts a strong T20 record, notably scoring a century off just 28 balls against Tripura in last year’s Mushtaq Ali Trophy and a century off 41 balls in the 2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy. While he was part of the Gujarat Titans squad in the 2023 IPL season, he didn’t get a chance to play. CSK, currently eliminated from playoff contention with only two wins from 11 matches, hope Patel’s inclusion will bolster their performance.
In other IPL roster news, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have signed Maharashtra bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey as a replacement for the injured Smaran Ravichandran. Dubey, who played a crucial role in Vidarbha’s 2024/25 Ranji Trophy victory, will join SRH at his base price of ₹30 lakh. He has a commendable record of 127 wickets and 941 runs in 16 T20 matches for Vidarbha.
