Thu May 08 15:01:23 UTC 2025: **BJP Demands Action on Illegal Immigrants in Telangana**
HYDERABAD, May 8, 2025 – The BJP in Telangana has intensified its pressure on the state government to take immediate action against illegal immigrants, echoing concerns raised at the national level. Party leaders held a press conference Thursday, alleging that the Telangana government has failed to adequately respond to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ directives regarding the identification and deportation of undocumented foreign nationals.
The BJP spokesperson, N.V. Subash, claimed that despite personal intervention from Home Minister Amit Shah urging all Chief Ministers, including Telangana’s Revanth Reddy, to act decisively, the state government has yet to submit a report on the number of illegal immigrants residing in Telangana. The party cited warnings from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and National Investigative Agency (NIA) about potential sleeper cells aiding terrorist activities.
The BJP alleges the presence of “thousands” of illegal immigrants, particularly in the Old City, possessing fraudulent documents and allegedly conspiring with unidentified groups to destabilize the state and nation. The party is demanding the immediate release of a list of all identified illegal immigrants. The accusations come amidst ongoing national discussions on border security and immigration.
