Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – May 8, 2025 – The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating a multi-crore liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh conducted searches on Thursday at the residence of K. Nageswar Reddy, the personal assistant to former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The raids also targeted the homes of other accused individuals, Dhananjaya Reddy and Krishnamohan Reddy.
The alleged scam involves several YSRCP leaders, including former Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy (who recently left the party), Rajampet MP P.V. Midhun Reddy, Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, and former APSBC managing director D. Vasudeva Reddy. These individuals are suspected of meeting during the YSRCP’s time in power to discuss cash transactions, the introduction of new liquor brands, and kickbacks from distilleries.
The SIT has already arrested Kessireddy Rajashekar Reddy (former IT advisor), his personal assistant Dilip Kumar, and Chanikya in connection with the case. Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy, Mr. Midhun Reddy, Mr. Rajashekar Reddy, and Mr. Chaitanya have also been questioned. The investigation is ongoing.
