**MYSURU, India (May 8, 2025)** – Following India’s recent airstrikes on terrorist targets in Pakistan, the Karnataka state government has implemented heightened security measures, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced today. Security personnel are on high alert at critical infrastructure and sensitive installations across the state, with precautionary drills underway in accordance with central government guidelines.
Siddaramaiah confirmed that all directives from the central government are being diligently followed, emphasizing a focus on ensuring public safety. He specifically mentioned enhanced security at vital installations such as dams.
Addressing concerns raised by the BJP regarding Pakistani nationals residing in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah stated that nearly all such individuals have been deported. He acknowledged a few exceptions involving ongoing legal proceedings, primarily in Mysuru, but maintained that the deportation process has been largely effective.
The Chief Minister also addressed the recent decision to hold special prayers in temples under the Muzrai Department, stating that the decision was made in consultation with Minister Ramalinga Reddy.
