Wed May 07 05:01:42 UTC 2025: ## India Launches Major Cross-Border Missile Strikes in Response to Terror Attack

**New Delhi, India** – India launched a major cross-border military operation codenamed “Operation Sindoor,” carrying out 24 precision missile strikes across nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The strikes, targeting terrorist training camps linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, were a response to a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Indian sources revealed.

The government claims the operation resulted in the deaths of 70 terrorists and injuries to over 60 more. Targets included Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal, all allegedly hubs of terrorist activity. Indian officials emphasized that the strikes were meticulously planned to minimize civilian casualties, citing the use of high-accuracy weapons and real-time drone surveillance. They also stressed that no Pakistani military installations were targeted.

Pakistan reported at least nine civilian deaths, 38 injuries, and two missing persons following the strikes.

Indian sources asserted that the operation aimed not only to neutralize immediate threats but also to dismantle the logistical support network provided by the Pakistani military to terrorist groups. They cited intelligence evidence of this deep-rooted nexus and claimed that the strikes successfully degraded the operational capabilities of the targeted organizations. The swift, coordinated nature of the operation, completed in under an hour, highlighted India’s strategic resolve, sources added. High-ranking commanders and key communication nodes were reportedly among the targets destroyed.

While acknowledging international calls for restraint, Indian officials stated they have received support for their right to self-defense. The operation represents a significant escalation in India’s response to cross-border terrorism and marks a new level of strategic assertiveness.
