THANJAVUR, MAY 7 – The South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC) announced Wednesday that its upcoming Salangai Naadham festival (May 10-18) will include daily performances by artists with disabilities. One of the six daily program slots will be dedicated to showcasing their talents, according to SZCC director K.K. Gopalakrishnan. The festival, featuring various folk and tribal art forms from across India, will also feature food and craft stalls on the SZCC campus.
To address funding requirements mandated by the Union Ministry, an entry fee of ₹20 per person and parking fees (₹30 for cars, ₹10 for two-wheelers) will be implemented. Similar events will also be held in Kallanai, Manora, Anicut, Pudukottai, and Mayiladuthurai districts in collaboration with local administrations.
