**Hyderabad, May 7, 2025** – Hyderabad conducted a city-wide civil defence mock drill, codenamed “Operation Abhyaas,” today at 4 p.m. The exercise, involving the Telangana Disaster Response Force (TDRF), police, fire services, and medical personnel, simulated a large-scale emergency.

The drill saw emergency services responding to staged incidents at multiple locations, including Aswini Colony and Nacharam, showcasing rescue operations and evacuation procedures. A temporary emergency medical camp was established, demonstrating the city’s capacity to handle mass casualties. The 22-storey BPS twin towers in Kanchanbagh also participated.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand emphasized the drill’s aim to enhance public awareness and preparedness for emergencies, highlighting the city’s unique strategic position. He stressed the importance of clear communication and coordination between various departments, using the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) as the central hub. The Commissioner also warned against the spread of misinformation regarding the drill circulating on social media.

Residents were advised to remain calm and were given contact numbers (100 and 112) for assistance. The drill concluded successfully, demonstrating Hyderabad’s readiness to handle major emergencies.
