**NEW YORK** – Actor Kelsey Grammer, known for his roles in “Frasier” and “Cheers,” has released a memoir, “Karen: A Brother Remembers,” detailing the brutal murder of his sister and its profound impact on his life and faith. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Grammer described how the 1975 murder of his 18-year-old sister, Karen, left him questioning his faith and grappling with immense grief.
The memoir recounts the horrific details of Karen’s kidnapping, rape, and murder, highlighting the devastating impact on Grammer and his family. He also discusses the subsequent conviction of Freddie Glenn and his continued efforts to prevent Glenn’s parole. Grammer admits that he temporarily turned away from God following the tragedy, but ultimately found solace through writing the book, family, and his wife, Kayte Walsh, with whom he shares three children, including a daughter named Faith.
“I was instructed through a medium that Karen wanted me to tell her story,” Grammer shared, explaining his motivation for writing the memoir 50 years after the event. He described the book as a means of finding peace and a way to honor his sister’s memory. He emphasized that closure is not a destination but rather a balance between grief and fond memories. While he has forgiven his sister’s killer, he maintains he will not advocate for his freedom.
The actor also previews his new Fox Nation show, “Blood on the Bridge: The Battle of Lexington and Concord,” in the interview. “Karen: A Brother Remembers” is available now.
