**BUCKINGHAM, VA** – A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck Buckingham County, Virginia, Tuesday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Initially reported as a 2.8 magnitude quake, the USGS later upgraded the measurement. The epicenter was located approximately five miles south of Dillwyn, and roughly 55 miles west of Richmond. The quake was felt in surrounding areas, including Lynchburg and Charlottesville.

No damage has been reported thus far. Authorities are encouraging residents who experienced the tremor to submit any security camera footage or reports of damage.
