**NEW DELHI/ISLAMABAD** – India has launched air strikes inside Pakistan in retaliation for the recent Pulwama terror attack, sources confirmed. Images from the strikes, showing widespread fires, have emerged. The strikes, codenamed “Operation Sindur,” targeted multiple locations, including Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad, according to reports from Pakistan’s Dawn News citing the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry.
Pakistan has acknowledged the strikes and issued threats of retaliation, stating that the time and place of their response will be determined by them. Following the air strikes, Pakistan violated the ceasefire by engaging in artillery shelling in the Bhimber Gali sector of the Poonch-Rajouri region. The Indian Army responded with a calibrated counter-offensive, maintaining control of the Line of Control (LoC).
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the strikes on Twitter, calling them cowardly attacks and vowing a strong response. He expressed unwavering support for the Pakistani armed forces and the nation’s resolve.
The escalation of tensions marks a significant development in the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. The situation remains tense, with both sides maintaining a strong military posture.
