Kolkata, India – In a high-scoring IPL thriller, the Kolkata Knight Riders edged out the Rajasthan Royals by one run. Rajasthan captain, Ryan Parag, almost single-handedly kept his team in the contest with a stunning 95 off 45 balls. The highlight was an unprecedented feat: Parag smashed six consecutive sixes across two overs, five of which came in a single over bowled by Moeen Ali. This is the first time in IPL history a player has hit six sixes across two consecutive overs. The over cost Moeen 32 runs (five sixes, one single, one wide).

Parag’s achievement adds him to an elite list of IPL players who have hit five sixes in a single over. Previously, Chris Gayle (2012), Rahul Tewatia (2020), and Ravindra Jadeja (2021) had accomplished this feat. Rinku Singh also achieved the five-sixer feat in 2023. Parag’s incredible display, however, was not enough to secure victory for the Royals. The KKR managed to chase down the high total, winning by a single run.
