Tue May 06 15:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Central Texas Under Tornado Watch, Severe Storms Expected Through Tuesday
**AUSTIN, Texas** – Central Texas is bracing for a severe weather system bringing the potential for large hail, isolated tornadoes, and flooding through Tuesday. The KVUE Weather Team has issued a Weather Impact Alert.
A Tornado Watch is in effect for all Central Texas counties until 4 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts the highest risk of severe storms along the I-35 corridor and in the Austin metro area during the Tuesday morning commute (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.). There’s a 70% chance of storms on Tuesday.
While widespread storms are possible, the impact may be more localized. Storms are expected to move from west to east. A cold front moving through Tuesday afternoon and evening could trigger another round of severe weather, though the likelihood and intensity are less certain.
After Tuesday, the threat of severe weather diminishes, with only a few lingering storms possible on Wednesday. Dryer and quieter conditions are expected for the latter half of the week and into the weekend.
Residents are urged to monitor the KVUE forecast for updates and remain vigilant for severe weather warnings. To stream KVUE on your phone, download the KVUE app.
