**TIRUMALA, INDIA (May 6, 2025)** – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is undertaking improvements to the Srivari Mettu footpath, the shortest route to the Tirumala temple, to enhance the pilgrimage experience. TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao announced the plans following an inspection of the route on Tuesday.
Rao noted concerns about access to darshan tokens and complaints of overcharging by auto-rickshaw operators. The TTD plans to address these issues by increasing bus services between Tirupati and Srivari Mettu and adding more token distribution counters. Further improvements will be guided by collecting feedback from pilgrims. The upgrades aim to create a smoother and more affordable pilgrimage for devotees.
