Tue May 06 01:55:22 UTC 2025: ## Rain Washes Out SRH’s Playoff Hopes, DC’s Path Narrows

**Hyderabad, India** – The IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) ended in disappointment as persistent rain forced abandonment of the match. The washout effectively eliminated SRH from playoff contention, while significantly increasing the pressure on DC, who now need to win two of their remaining three matches to secure a postseason berth.

Despite the curtailed game, there were highlights. Delhi Capitals, batting first after SRH opted to bowl, managed a modest 133/7 in 20 overs. Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs top-scored with 41 runs each. SRH’s bowling attack proved effective, with Pat Cummins claiming three wickets. The SRH captain also made early inroads, dismissing key DC batsmen Karun Nair, Abhishek Porel, and Faf du Plessis. Other notable dismissals included Axar Patel (by Harshal Patel), KL Rahul (by Jaydev Unadkat), and Vipraj Nigam (run out). Eshan Malinga also chipped in with a wicket.

The rain, however, ultimately proved the decisive factor, leaving SRH heartbroken and DC facing a challenging road ahead in the tournament.
