**CLEVELAND, OH –** Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will wear jersey number 12 during his first NFL season, the team announced today. The number, previously worn by players including safety Rodney McLeod and legendary quarterback Vinny Testaverde, was a popular choice among fans who purchased Sanders jerseys following his fifth-round draft selection last month. Sanders wore number 2 at the University of Colorado, but that number is already assigned to Browns wide receiver DeAndre Carter.
The Browns also revealed the jersey numbers for their other newly acquired quarterbacks. Third-round pick Dillon Gabriel will wear number 5, and Kenny Pickett will wear number 8. Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco will retain his familiar number 15.
