HYDERABAD, INDIA – May 6, 2025 – Healthcare workers at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Palvancha, Telangana, have successfully delivered twin babies, both in breech position, via natural childbirth. This is a rare accomplishment, as such cases typically necessitate a Cesarean section, especially in private facilities.
The mother, a resident of Palvancha, arrived at the CHC in active labor. Medical staff, led by midwife Sujatha, identified the breech presentation of both twins. Despite the high-risk nature of the delivery, the team, with the support of doctors, opted for a natural birth after preparing the mother through exercises and counseling.
The successful delivery resulted in two healthy baby boys, each weighing 1.9 kg. Both babies and their mother are reportedly recovering well. Dr. Ravi Babu, district health officer, lauded the team’s expertise and coordination, highlighting the accessibility of free medical procedures at government hospitals, unlike the estimated ₹2 lakh cost in a private setting.
