Tue May 06 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Madhya Pradesh Implements Two-Exam System, Replacing Supplementary Exams

**Bhopal, India –** The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) announced today that it will replace its supplementary exam system with a “second chance examination,” making it the third state in India to adopt a two-exam-a-year model. The change will take effect in 2025.

The announcement follows the release of the 2025 MP Board Class 10 and 12 results, showing a 76.22% pass rate for Class 10 and 74.48% for Class 12. Results are available online at mpresults.nic.in and mpbse.nic.in.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the new system offers students a second opportunity to improve their scores or retake failed subjects. Students who sat for the main exam can opt to take the second chance exam, with the better score being recorded. For subjects with practical components, students can retake only the failed portion (practical or internal assessment). Subject changes are not permitted.

The application window for the second chance exam opens May 7th and closes May 21st, 2025. Students can register via the MP Online Portal. Applications for re-evaluation and scanned answer sheets are also available during this period.

The second chance exams will be held from June 17th to June 26th, 2025 for Class 10, and until July 5th, 2025 for Class 12. Students will not receive a marksheet for the main exam, but can access a digital copy through DigiLocker. Final marksheets will be issued after the second exam results are released. Rechecking and photocopy requests can be submitted from May 6th to 15th, 2025, online or via the MPBSE mobile app.
