**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – May 6, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh Health Minister, Y. Satya Kumar Yadav, has ordered an inquiry into the conduct of two government doctors following the death of a patient in 2022. The doctors, a civil surgeon specialist and a civil assistant surgeon (anesthesia), performed surgery on the patient at a private hospital while on duty at a government hospital in Jangareddygudem, Eluru district.
The patient subsequently died, prompting a complaint alleging negligence against the doctors. While the doctors claim the surgery was performed on humanitarian grounds and deny negligence, Minister Yadav has directed officials to conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate disciplinary action. The inquiry will examine the circumstances surrounding the surgery and determine whether any professional misconduct occurred.
