**Sukma, Chhattisgarh, May 6, 2025** – Maoist rebels have murdered Muchaki Rama, the deputy sarpanch of Tarlaguda village panchayat in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, police reported Tuesday. Rama was abducted from his home in Benpalli village on Monday afternoon and later found dead. This marks the ninth killing attributed to Maoists in Bastar division this year, following 68 civilian deaths in the region last year. Police are investigating the incident.
