Tue May 06 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower to Peak Monday Night
**New York, NY** – Stargazers are in for a treat this week as the Eta Aquarids meteor shower reaches its peak on Monday night into Tuesday morning. This celestial display, caused by Earth passing through debris left by Halley’s Comet, promises fast and bright meteors, often appearing as fireballs.
While best viewed from the southern tropics, the shower will be visible across both hemispheres, particularly in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday. The Weather Prediction Center forecasts clear skies across the West Coast, Southeast, and parts of the Midwest, creating optimal viewing conditions in those areas. Although the moon will be nearly two-thirds full, the spectacle should still be easily observable.
The Eta Aquarids have been active since April 19th and will continue until May 28th. Experts advise finding a dark location away from city lights for the best viewing experience.
