**Shivamogga, Karnataka – May 4, 2025** – A one-month closure of the Hassan bypass (NH 75) on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway is scheduled to begin May 15th to facilitate railway overbridge repairs near Rajiv College of Engineering. The order, issued by Hassan Deputy Commissioner C. Sathyabhama, prohibits all vehicles from using the bypass from May 15th to June 14th.
While light motor vehicles will be permitted during the initial repair preparation phase (until May 14th), a complete closure will be in effect for the month-long repair period. Alternative routes have been announced for drivers traveling between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, including via Bustenahalli Circle, Dairy Circle, Subedar Circle, Belur Road, Vijaya Nagara, and Devarayapatna Circle. The decision follows a request from the South Western Railway’s Deputy Chief Engineer (Bridge Line).
