Sun May 04 04:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Marvel’s *Thunderbolts* Set Sees Scorpion Encounters and Head Injury
**Los Angeles, CA** – The making of Marvel’s *Thunderbolts* wasn’t all explosions and superheroics; the cast revealed some unexpected on-set dangers during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. While filming in the desert, Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) and other cast members unknowingly lay down on a scorpion nest, resulting in a scorpion crawling up Pugh’s leg.
The close calls didn’t end there. Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent) suffered a significant head injury during a scene deemed risky by David Harbour (Red Guardian). Harbour expressed concerns about the safety of the scene involving a low-hanging two-by-four, but the scene went ahead. Russell ended up hitting his head, resulting in a gushing head wound that required staples at a nearby hospital. Remarkably, he returned to set the very next day. While he initially thought the injury would result in a cool scar, it is located in his hairline and is largely invisible.
The cast shared other near-misses, including tight running sequences and props that caused problems for Pugh. Despite the hazardous conditions, no further injuries occurred during filming. *Thunderbolts* is currently playing in theaters.
