Sun May 04 11:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Judge Faces Removal from Bench After Misconduct Allegations
**BATON ROUGE, LA** – The Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has recommended the removal of 19th Judicial District Judge Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts, citing dishonesty regarding her military service and an insurance claim. The recommendation, filed with the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana, follows an investigation into allegations of misconduct during her 2020 election campaign and afterward.
The OSC’s brief alleges Judge Foxworth-Roberts falsely claimed to be a former U.S. Army Captain in campaign advertisements, despite having been discharged at the rank of First Lieutenant. Further, she is accused of filing a false police report and insurance claim related to a reported theft of a diamond ring, attempting to mislead investigators about the extent of her claim.
Assistant Special Counsel Michael Bewers described the judge’s actions as “egregious unethical conduct,” “calculated, deliberate, and in bad faith,” and “prejudicial to the administration of justice.” He emphasized the severity of the misconduct and the judge’s lack of cooperation during the investigation.
The Judiciary Commission will now review the OSC’s recommendation. Judge Foxworth-Roberts is scheduled to appear before the commission on May 23rd. A final decision on her removal rests with the Louisiana Supreme Court. Judge Foxworth-Roberts is unable to comment due to judicial restrictions on media communication.
