Sun May 04 06:50:00 UTC 2025: ## CRPF Trooper Dismissed for Marrying Pakistani Woman, Vows Legal Challenge

**JAMMU, INDIA –** A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper, Munir Ahmed, has been dismissed from service for allegedly concealing his marriage to a Pakistani national, Minal Khan. Ahmed, however, claims he obtained permission from CRPF headquarters before the marriage and will challenge his dismissal in court.

Ahmed, who joined the CRPF in 2017, stated that he received permission to marry Khan on April 30, 2024, after submitting the required documentation, including affidavits and copies of passports. The couple married online on May 24, 2024, and subsequently submitted their marriage certificate to Ahmed’s battalion.

Khan entered India on a short-term visa that expired on March 22, 2024. While her deportation was initially ordered, the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court stayed the order. Ahmed maintains that they applied for a long-term visa in March.

The CRPF’s dismissal order cited Ahmed’s actions as detrimental to national security due to his concealing the marriage and harboring Khan beyond her visa validity. Ahmed alleges that he informed his superiors about his marriage and even completed the necessary documentation after his transfer to Bhopal. He claims the dismissal was unexpected and that he learned of it through media reports. He was reportedly transferred abruptly from his posting in Sunderbani to Bhopal, without the standard 15-day notice period.

Ahmed insists he followed proper protocol throughout the process and expressed confidence in securing justice through legal channels. He intends to file a lawsuit in the coming days to challenge his dismissal.
