**Mangaluru, May 4, 2025** – Jesnia Correa, an eighth-grader from Mount Carmel Central School in Mangaluru, has brought home a gold medal from the national School Games Federation of India (SGFI) competition. The young athlete secured first place in the 500-meter rink race and a silver medal in the 1000-meter rink race in the under-14 girls’ category. The competition took place in New Delhi from April 30th to May 3rd.
Correa’s impressive performance has been met with accolades from her school and family. The school lauded her talent, determination, and sportsmanship. Her coaches at the Hi Flyers Skating Club in Mangaluru, Mohan, Omkar, and Ramanand, also played a significant role in her success. Her parents, Jerome and Preetha Correa, provided unwavering support throughout her training.
