**Bengaluru, May 4, 2025** – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has pledged to allocate funds to mutts (religious institutions) belonging to Dalit and Other Backward Caste (OBC) communities. The promise came following a meeting on Saturday with a delegation of seers from these communities who presented a petition outlining their needs.
The delegation also requested land for a gurukula (residential school) in Chitradurga district to train Dalit and OBC priests. CM Siddaramaiah instructed officials to identify a suitable site for this project. The Chief Minister assured the seers that the funding for the mutts would be released in the coming days.
