**NEW DELHI** – Over 2.27 million candidates are taking the NEET (UG) 2025 entrance examination today, Sunday, across 5,453 centers in over 500 cities. The Ministry of Education has implemented a three-tiered monitoring system at the district, state, and central levels to ensure a fair and transparent exam. Most exam centers this year are located in government and government-aided schools, colleges, universities, and institutions.
A mock drill was conducted at all NEET-UG centers on Saturday to test the functionality of mobile signal jammers, the availability of security personnel, and the biometric authentication processes.
Candidates are required to arrive by 1:30 PM; the exam begins at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter. Strict security measures are in place at all centers. Candidates must carry a valid photo ID such as a driving license, voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar card, or their class 12th admission card.
Electronic devices including Bluetooth devices, watches, mobile phones, calculators, and geometry boxes are strictly prohibited. Candidates wearing culturally or religiously significant attire are requested to arrive by 12:30 PM for security checks. Anyone caught using unfair means will face a three-year ban from the exam and potential criminal charges under the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
