**Khammam, Telangana –** The Telangana government launched its ambitious Young India Integrated Residential Schools program on Saturday, aiming to set a new standard in education across India. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka performed the Bhoomi Puja (groundbreaking ceremony) for a new school in Khammam district.
The program, with a budget of ₹21,000 crore, will establish 105 residential schools across the state. Mr. Vikramarka stated that the schools will provide international-standard education to lakhs of students, preparing them for global competition. He contrasted this initiative with the perceived failures of the previous BRS regime’s promise of free education from KG to PG.
The initiative was praised by the School Teachers’ Federation and the BC Employees’ Association, with the latter highlighting the importance of the program in addressing historical inequalities. The program is expected to significantly impact the state’s educational landscape and serve as a model for other states.
