Sat May 03 15:12:02 UTC 2025: ## Tiruchi District Achieves Milestone in Digital Health Initiative
**Tiruchi, India (May 3, 2025)** – Tiruchi district has successfully uploaded immunization data for over 95,000 antenatal women and infants into the U-WIN digital health database, a significant achievement in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s initiative. Launched in October 2024, U-WIN aims to compile comprehensive immunization data from both government and private healthcare facilities.
District Health Officer V.C. Hemachand Gandhi stated that mandatory U-WIN registration will provide a clearer picture of long-term health outcomes. Over 600 vaccinators across 2,376 session sites, including 152 private hospitals, are contributing to the initiative. 300 village health nurses have been trained to utilize the user-friendly software for data entry. The data, stored on a cloud server and integrated with SAFE-VAC, enables self-registration and automated follow-up appointments.
The U-WIN database tracks 12 vaccinations protecting against diseases such as tuberculosis, polio, measles, and pneumonia. Officials believe the initiative will streamline healthcare services and improve awareness of vaccination programs.
