**Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, May 4, 2025** – A speeding car struck a group of men near a temple in the Amman Kovil area of Ramanathapuram district late Saturday night, leaving one feared dead and several others injured. Approximately 12 men were standing near the temple when the unidentified vehicle hit them.
All victims were transported to the Government Ramanathapuram Medical College Hospital. Five individuals were subsequently transferred to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai for advanced treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
Following the incident, over 100 residents gathered at the hospital, prompting a police deployment to manage the crowd. Authorities are currently investigating the accident.
